How to Apply
Buckingham Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of its 2026 grant application portal in celebration of our 20th anniversary. In recognition of this milestone, the Foundation will award $20,000 grants to support impactful nonprofit work.
Eligible applicants include all 501(c)(3) organizations whose missions, priorities, or programs align with the Foundation’s focus areas: affordable housing, community and economic development, arts and culture, and food insecurity. Priority consideration will be given to organizations serving communities where Buckingham maintains a presence.
Funding decisions are based on available resources and the degree to which proposals meet the Foundation's charitable giving criteria and priorities. All proposals are considered on individual merit, and only one application will be accepted from an organization in a 12-month period. Site visits are an important component of the grant review process. The Foundation is limited in the number of projects which will be supported, and Foundation grants will be coordinated with Buckingham Companies corporate support.
Completion of the application is required for all requests. Proposals should not exceed three (3) pages in length (not including supporting documentation such as 501(c)(3) determination, letters of community commitment or support, financial statements, list of board members, brochures). Proposals should be as precise as possible and thoroughly outline the nature of the program. The Foundation requires a follow-up report from every grantee organization within six months of receiving a grant, and a final report on project outcomes and next steps within 12 months of grant acceptance. Future grant awards are not automatic and reports are an important factor in future funding decisions.
