Who We Are

Buckingham Foundation is the philanthropic partner of Buckingham Companies. Since its inception in 2006, the Foundation has grown its grant giving capacity to support affordable housing opportunities for families in need, to encourage participation in arts and culture initiatives and to invest in local communities. In 2015, Buckingham Foundation joined the fight against childhood hunger with its Love Indy campaign.

Buckingham Foundation invests in organizations through meaningful grants, volunteers thousands of hours to hundreds of nonprofit and civic organizations, and goes beyond typical philanthropy to open doors that create positive change.  

To date, Buckingham Foundation has awarded more than $2M in grants and sponsorships to 225 nonprofits.

Theresa Rhodes

Theresa Rhodes - Executive Director

Theresa is a passionate advocate deeply committed to helping the Foundation maximize its impact in the community. She enthusiastically leads the Foundation’s philanthropic and strategic plans that result in meaningful work for the companies and communities served. Theresa is a problem solver who is motivated by accomplishing tasks and accepting the next challenge. 

Under her leadership, teams of generous and passionate Buckingham employees who care deeply about the core value of community involvement are making a significant difference. Theresa has spent her career serving the public in her roles working for former Mayor Steve Goldsmith, and then as the president of the Lacy Leadership Association. Early in her career she was taught valuable lessons that are rooted into her work today: integrity, a commitment to a greater good, and an unflinching drive to do the right thing.

Why does Theresa serve?

“I truly believe that to whom much is given much is expected. I’ve been ‘given much.’ I feel a responsibility to give back and model that philosophy for my daughter, in hopes it will continue to pass down through generations to come.”
 

Becca Manolov
Director of Community Relations

Becca Manolov - Director of Community Relations

Becca serves an important role for the Foundation as its fanatical volunteer coordinator and creative storyteller. She actively works to build community relations and discovers new ways to showcase Buckingham Companies and Buckingham Foundation. She is motivated by a career focused on community involvement and the opportunity to give back daily.

Eager to engage Buckingham employees and residents in Foundation initiatives, Becca aims to create seamless, impactful, and FUN experiences. While each project is equally important, the two that bring the biggest smile to her face are building and supporting a food pantry at George Buck Elementary (which also bring the loudest cheers from the kids) and knowing she’s helping move people towards home ownership through the Foundation’s support of INHP. Becca’s creative and bold approach to her role stems from a career in marketing, hospitality, public relations, and event planning – all of which prove invaluable in her work with the Foundation.
